last teacher's day visit to IJ!
i rushed from nj to ij on thursday and i enjoyed my time there:)met a lot a lot of teachers! met mrs ong, whom i didn't get to take a photo with): i will go back to ij one fine day to take one:)
met 吴老师! my dearest chinese teacher who taught me when i was primary one. that was 11years ago!
got her contact number to keep-in-touch in future. she said that she's very touched that we came back to visit! she taught nik when she was in pri5 and 6 so that was about 7-8 years ago.
and she remembers that my chinese was good! (i know it isn't now) and said that nik's chinese was terrible!
awww man. love her to bits and pieces.
ms lim! she said i looked different and i went "you look different too!" she has slimmed down SO MUCH. almost couldn't recognise her!
anw i was her first AV/IT head and clarine was the vice-head. those were the days when the teachers will come knocking and looking for us. and whenever there was a huge event such as thanksgiving day mass, year-end concert, musical this and that.. we get to pon class to set up:) whether for dry run or for actual. hahahaha huge excuse and proud of it:)
mrs ang! our discipline mistress. funny thing is that we were super scared of her while we were pupils and when we graduate, we love her so so so much. same for other girls who came back to visit! i rmb her spot-checks used to taunt me a lot. and when we were running along the corridors, she'd stand there and point at us and we'd immediately stop and walk. she'd always go "walk like ladies!" unlike now, where they'd run in the opposite direction (and so she says) she even did the "point her finger" action and oh gosh it's still the same! :) :)
she has never taught me, but still seems like she does. same for mrs lewis, miss ng, ms ponni, mrs mahani, cikgu aniza etc etc i forgot alr. AV/IT is a good job:)
nik: "is there tap today?"
evelyn: "yea.. it's thursday.. ms jackie's supposed to teach if there is today! but i don't think there is.. teacher's day celebration! school ends at 2 isn't it?!"
TURNS OUT THERE WAS TAP. happy ttm!
while nik and i were walking around, gracia caught us and told us ms jackie was by the piano! we decided to hide and wait while she finish her phonecall then go on the surprise her but we walked up to her in the end.
i cried after i hugged her! i missed her sooooooooooooo much!
i would see her on the huge screens at chingay, ndp but never once did i see her in flesh!
we went back to terrorize our juniors.. or descendants as nik puts it. and we did grade3 combi (in the video below) and our grade4 warmups for the primary 2s cause ms jackie wants them to aim for it. but they are still struggling with grade3 so probs have to wait.
nik (graduated in 2004), ms jackie, i graduated in 2005 and gracia (2008)
anyway, i'm thankful that i managed to see, talk and dance with this dearest dearest dearest instructor of mine. i rmb she came when i was in primary 2 (nik was pri3) and we were so happy cause we hated the previous instructor (i have no memory of her) cause we did boring stuff! and we had so many people the tiny stage couldn't fit us all!
took bus together and the three of us alighted at rail mall while ms jackie continued on to her zumba class. she then msged me (cause she didn't have the numbers of the other two) and said that this was her best teacher's day ever! this was also my best teacher's day ever cause i managed to meet so many teachers at ij. and most imptly, i managed to meet ms jackie and tap with her again! i'll try to fetch my tap shoes from aust in oct and if i can't.. i'll try to borrow!
and while on the note of tap, my first ever partner, the other one who stuck it out till the very end even when everyone from our batches have left tap. she said that there'll be no one to visit ij with her next tdc alr! but there'll still be ckoo and gracia okay! :)
